Competitions Coordinator

The SMASH! Community department is looking for a new Competitions Coordinator to plan, manage and run competitions for SMASH! while liaising with other marketing coordinators as well as our Exhibitors and Sponsors (E&S) and Events & Production departments to manage and deliver all sponsored competitions. The ideal candidate must have previous administrative and leadership experience, works well under a high pressure environment and has excellent time arrangement, excellent customer service skills and problem solving skills.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Plan, manage, and run competitions for SMASH!
  • Work closely with other Marketing Coordinators to create and deliver competitions in line with SMASH! brand guidelines and SMASH! marketing goals
  • Manage information gathered through SMASH! competitions in line with the SMASH! Privacy Policies
  • Ensure all competitions run by SMASH! adhere to the conditions and requirements of the Trade Promotions Licence held by SMASH!
  • Liaise with Exhibitors and Sponsors (E&S)  and Programming departments to manage and deliver all sponsored competitions
  • Work in conjunction with the Statistics Coordinator to attach surveys to competitions and manage giveaways attached to staff, crew and attendee surveys

  • Easily contactable via Email & Mobile phone
  • High Proficiency in written English and a clear and friendly writing style are essential
  • Strong communication skills especially written, pitching & story-development skills
  • Require availability for monthly meetings, networking events, both workshop and training days, set up day and both days of the convention
  • High level interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with marketing department and other functional teams.
  • Familiarity with anime, manga  and Japanese gaming culture and trends
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
  • A high level of administrative and organisational skills
  • Creativity and affable personality
  • Teamwork skills and excellent time management
  • Ability to contribute ideas and demonstration initiative and flexibility

Desirable:

  • Event management experience.
  • Currently studying/studied business or marketing.
  • Experience in liaising with external stakeholders to meet organisation goals
  • Initiative, drive & experience in event management
  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience is desired, but not essential
