Community Marketing Assistant

SMASH! Marketing is looking for a new Community Marketing Assistant who will work hand in hand with the Marketing Director and other Coordinators. As a Community Assistant you will be responsible for the development and promotion of SMASH! brand image through community based campaigns and projects. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and self-sufficient, has previous communications/marketing/event management experience and has strong well rounded professional and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate is expected to assist the Marketing Director and Coordinators in management of the SMASH! community forums and/or platform content throughout the year and applying cost effective strategies, as well as up to date information.

This includes; but is not limited to:

• Creating and implementing up to date digital space where the SMASH! community are able to share and discuss all things relevant to SMASH!

• Customer service and pre­sales experience

• Liaise and negotiate with vendors for quotes and information

• Developing and formulating an long term digital space for the SMASH! community that is both relevant and serves a need whilst also promoting SMASH! events

• Promotion of SMASH! at various events including but not limited to poster drives and ticketing booths

• Developing SMASH!’s brand, image and community through community based campaigns and projects

• Increase SMASH! goodwill and brand awareness amongst the general population

• Create campaign proposals and materials required to carry out advertising campaigns that target the community

• Promotion of SMASH! at various events including but not limited to poster drives and ticketing booths

To be considered for the role, you must be:

• Proficiency in written English and a clear and friendly writing style are essential.

• Require availability for both days of the convention and set up day

• Reside in Sydney, Australia

• Easily contactable via Email & Mobile phone

• Attention to detail and strong customer service skills

• Ability to work self-sufficiently with limited supervision

• Strong written and verbal communication skills both professional and interpersonal

• Strong time management and planning skills and ability to work under pressure


• Previous volunteer or customer service experience is desired, but not essential.

• A strong motivation and drive to carry out intensive long-term projects
