As the MC/Translator Coordinator, you hold an On-The-Day (OTD) role within the Production Department. Your primary responsibility is to serve as the liaison for Master of Ceremonies (MCs) and Translators, ensuring they navigate the event landscape with ease. You are the key facilitator for the individuals who bring life to the stages. From guiding them through schedules to assisting with stage protocols, your role is integral to the success of hosting staged events.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Convention

  • Ensure MCs or translators are briefed on convention specifics. 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with assigned MCs or translators.

On the Day

  • Act as the designated point of contact and liaison for assigned MCs or translators, assisting them in navigating schedules and stage locations.
  • Escort MCs or translators between stages, ensuring they arrive punctually, understand stage-specific protocols, and are familiar with their event itinerary.
  • Provide ongoing support, ensuring assigned MCs or translators are well-informed about their schedules and the event on-goings. 
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and experience

  • Proficiency in organisation, time keeping and map layouts. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

Availability

  • A few weeks before convention date:
    • Contactable on a regular basis via email and phone.
    • Attendance at staff meetings and ad hoc coordination workshops.
  • Available in person for the convention days.

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience.
  • Highly motivated and self-sufficient.
  • Customer Service Experience.
