Sales and Partnership Director

The Sales & Partnerships Director is primarily responsible for approaching businesses to negotiate for exhibition and sponsorship opportunities at SMASH!, liaising with all the exhibitors, artists and communities of SMASH! all year round as well as coordinating and supervising team members. The Director needs to provide leadership and guidance while also providing training and support to all Sales & Partnership staff.

The tasks of the Sales & Partnerships Director include but not limited to:

  • Approaching new businesses to promote the various exhibition and sponsorship opportunities at SMASH!
    • Promote the various opportunities they can become involved as an exhibitor and/ or sponsor at SMASH! to maximise their presence amongst the attendees and other business partners at SMASH!.
  • Liaise with businesses to negotiate and form contractual agreements
    • Communicate with businesses that are interested in becoming involved as an exhibitor and/or sponsor of SMASH!, and draft up the details of the agreement in the form of a contractual agreement when necessary.
    • Provide regular updates to supervisor(s) of negotiation progress via email communication and regular meetings.
    • Communicate with external stakeholder including contractors.
  • Act as the main point of contact between SMASH! and exhibitors.
    • Checking emails on a regular basis.
    • Provide customer services to exhibitors leading up to, during and after the convention which include duties such as answering queries, informing exhibitors with relevant updates.
    • Keep track of all verbal, written and any other forms of communication with exhibitors for record purposes.
  • Perform administrative matters such as processing online application and issuing invoices.
    • Process exhibition applications when the online registration is open. Relevant duties include emailing vendors to confirm application details and issuing invoices.
  • Supervise assigned team members of own team.
    • Delegate tasks to and supervise team member performance.
    • Monitor team members’ work progress, and provide supervisors with feedback and evaluation.
  • Hold regular meetings to cover any issues and to monitor progress.
  • OTD duties. Managing passes and exhibitor move in/out & overall presence at the venue

  • Available for setup & convention day(s) in Sydney, Australia

  • Availability to attend monthly meetings (fortnightly and weekly meetings two months leading up to the convention)
  • Sales and Customer Service Experience
