Staff Coordinator

The Department of People & Culture (DPC) is a dedicated team for our volunteers, in both staff volunteers and crew volunteers, where our Vision & Purpose is to uphold a high standard of:

As a Staff Coordinator, you are a part of the Staff team. The key roles are:

  • Staff recruitment
  • Staff training
  • Staff records
  • Assisting the Head of Staff

The responsibilities of your role, as a Staff Coordinator, include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Receive direction from DPC Director and Head of Staff 
  • Collaborate and provide support to Staff Team and Crew Team when needed
  • Display appropriate behaviour aligned with SMASH’s purpose and culture

The deliverables that your role could include, are:

      • Attend DPC and Staff Talent meetings
      • Developing talent acquisition and training strategies
      • Assist with recording updates on budget, recruitment status, recruitment campaigns, staff training plans, challenges/issues
      • Facilitating staff recruitment
      • Running and supporting staff training days
      • Managing staff records internally
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Great attention to detail and time management skills
  • Organisational skills, especially in managing records and data
  • Understanding & appreciation for confidentiality & respect
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attend meetings, workshops and activities as required
  • Available for convention days in Sydney, Australia
DESIRABLE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Studying/ working or have an interest in the field of Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Experience in presenting training in-person and online
  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience
  • Comfortable in both individual and team environments
