Website Content Editor

The Website Content Editor is responsible for maintaining all the publicly visible content on the SMASH! website. This includes ensuring all copy is error-free and up-to-date, selecting suitable photos/images, and working with the IT team to keep the website easy to use for the public. Please note: this is not an IT role! You will not be asked to code for the website, only control the words and images that will appear on the website.

The Website Content Editor will be required to, but not limited to:

  • Regularly maintain and update the copy and images for the SMASH! website and the SMASH! online shop website
  • Delegate tasks to Copywriters to keep website content up to date
  • Proofread copy to ensure it is error-free before sending it to the IT team
  • Work closely with IT team to keep website up to date
  • Work closely with other SMASH! Departments to ensure website content is accurate and up to date
  • Work closely with the SMASH! Marketing team to maintain a unified message across all platforms (social media platforms, newsletter)
  • Maintain and update SMASH! News section (blog posts)
  • Write copy for SMASH! website pages, blog posts, etc. in line with the SMASH! brand and appropriate to the yearly theme
  • Escalate problems to Campaign Manager or Marketing Director where necessary
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Contactable on a regular basis via email and phone.
  • Very strong written communication skills in English.
  • Copywriting skills
  • Attend meetings, workshops and activities as required.
  • Available for convention day(s) in Sydney, Australia to assist Marketing Team in OTD activities
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong creativity
  • Familiarity with anime, manga, and cosplay culture, including current and upcoming trends
  • Knowledge or experience in marketing campaigns and implementation
  • Knowledge of social media and social media trends
DESIRABLE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous volunteer or customer service experience is desired, but not essential.
  • Experience in content creation
  • UX knowledge desired but not essential
  • Studied or studying Commerce, Marketing, Communications, or similar
